So you've decided to return to play tennis? Or maybe you're happy to be a spectator, but you want to expand their knowledge of party. There are many variables to tennis, from appropriate clothing for the team, the rules for players, but there are certain constants in the game too.

At sixty-eight feet long from baseline to baseline, twenty-seven feet wide - thirty-six feet for doubles matches - the tennis court is one of these constants, and can learn much about the game simply by understanding the playing field.

For that size of a tennis court never changes, the track surface can vary from place to place. There are three main types of surfaces in which tennis is played, and each surface dictates a particular style of play.

Clay courts are crushed stone, brick or slate, and usually reddish orange, but can be green too. Clay courts are considered slow courts where balls tend to bounce higher and slower than in other surfaces. Therefore, the subjects tend to last longer in clay court players tend to stay near Baseline - the line farthest from the network -- and play defense, because it is so difficult to simply blow to his opponent.

Battered clay courts are more common in Europe and South America are in the United States. In professional tournaments only Grand Slam French Open - or the Tournament of Roland Garros, which is officially known - is played on a clay surface.

The second type of playing surface that could be in a short Tennis is grass. You rarely see because of their high maintenance costs, the short grass grown in soil firmly packed, like a golf course. Reproduction of all surfaces, grass presents the variables most players.

Wear, moisture, soil strength, and the length of the grass has grown since it has cut off all play an important role in the playing characteristics of grass land. Despite these variables, players grass in general can be expected to bounce the ball low forcing players to reach the ball faster if they want the opportunity to return, therefore, the courts are fast grass courts.

Grass successful players tend to play a serve and volley style, where they quickly rush to the network after serve in the hope of forcing the opponent to hit back fast and perfect, is not easy in a fast grass court. The grass court is the most famous undoubtedly center court Wimbledon championships Interior Wimbledon Grand Slam event and the oldest championship tennis tournament.

Faster that clay, even slower than grass courts, hard tennis courts are the most common type of tennis. Built with concrete materials, or synthetic, tennis cement vary in speed and bounce, but generally fall in the middle, on both fronts. Hard courts are also more conducive to all playing styles and, Unlike grass or clay, which provide no significant advantage or disadvantage for players with different styles.

So often hard courts are considered to offer the fairest test of all abilities. ITS Open and Australia Open is played on clay, even if YOUR Open uses a surface acrylic, while the Australia Open uses a synthetic surface. Indoor tracks are a difficult variable that courts are usually concrete, wood, or even artificial grass. They usually have similar playing characteristics are similar to other variations on hard courts.

Now that we understand the different surfaces in tennis, you can use this knowledge to improve their strategies on the court, or appreciation for the game as a spectator. Anyway, you should understand the tennis court to understand full court.
