Teaching reading is not rocket science so you can teach reading at home very easily. All you need a roadmap how.
There is many methods of teaching reading, but I like to go is with the phonetics.
Now you must decide if a phonics-based program from the Internet or outside the program that you must teach your children. Benefits Internet-based program is that you can leave your children at the computer. Even if another program, you must teach their children at home.
I like the Montessori approach to reading because it is very effective but must be the teacher. This is not to let your child on the computer. The approach uses letters Montessori sandpaper. You do the word or sound with the sandpaper letters and your child to monitor the sandpaper letters the word is pronounced.
It's that simple.
It has many advantages, but it takes time. I think it is possible that the quickest way to learn to read letters from sandpaper and gives voice to spirit of his son.
One of the most important parts of teaching reading at home is reading aloud in bed as often as you can. This so your child to love reading books, but should always follow the words while reading with a pencil or finger, if your child see that words can make the sound.
