He's 7 and it seems like his meds(Straterra)arent working well after school(he's very hyper and unfocused til bedtime) And mornings are rough because he's not awake enough.
i agree with sherasi about right after dinner...i've had foster children with ADHD and for the majority, that was the best time.
you can also talk to your child's school about your situation. is he on an IEP? if not, get him on one, and if so, he is eligible for extra help from the school. if it is difficult for him to get homework done, they can work with him at school, set some time aside with a tutor for him to get some of it done while at school.
i'm also concerned that maybe his medication isn't working properly...have you talked with his doctor about the straterra? i was under the impression that it is a time-released med that works for 24 hours...maybe his dosage needs adjusted... good luck--i understand your frustrations completely.

Although average interest rates in Florida are below the national average, Florida has one of the lowest levels of home affordability in the nation.
In Florida, before a buyer submits an offer on a home, their real estate agent is required to present them with a completed Real Estate Property Disclosure Statement. This disclosure, completed by the seller of the Florida home, requires the Florida home seller to list all of the property that will be included in the purchase including refrigerator, stove, fans, blinds alarm system, etc. and explain aspects and conditions of both the included property and of the Florida home itself. This document requires the seller to disclose any material defect that may affect the value of the home and potential problems that may discourage the Florida home buyer from putting an offer in on the home.
Florida Civil Code Provision of the Real Estate Act regulates the issuance of variable interest rates for the purchase of real estate. Therefore, Florida mortgage applicants who are issued large FHA mortgage amounts are guaranteed a fixed rate mortgage. Florida law also prohibits the charging of interest more than one day prior to the recording of the FHA mortgage even if the borrower received the loan prior to that time.
In December of 2001, Florida law enacted a set of anti-predatory lending laws in order to help protect Florida homebuyers from predatory mortgage lenders. Some of the provisions of this new set of Florida mortgage laws include the prohibition of a Florida lender charging points and fees in excess of 8% of the total principal financed amount, the prohibition of the Florida FHA mortgage company issuing an FHA loan to a mortgage applicant in an amount that the borrower could not reasonably afford to repay, and the prohibition of the financing of single-premium credit insurance.
If you're buying a Florida home in the state of Florida , you qualify for both federal and state FHA, USDA, and VA loans. Florida First-time home buyers qualify for Florida FHA loans with below-market interest rates, and, depending on their eligibility, may also qualify for an FHA home loan in order to cover down payment and closing, prepaid tax and insurance costs. Teachers and other Florida mortgage applicants and professionals who work in an educational capacity may qualify for Florida Extra Credit Teacher Home Purchase Program, a down payment assistance loan with low rate interest.
In addition to FHA loans, the state of Florida also offers comparable programs to persons with disabilities or Florida mortgage applicants who live with and care for people in Florida with disabilities. The state o Florida also offers several unconventional loans designed to aid Florida mortgage applicants with the costs of their monthly mortgage payment. For example, Florida's Interest Only FHA mortgage loan provides qualified FHA mortgage appointments and other Florida homebuyers with a 100% financing 40year FHA mortgage loan that only requires payments toward the accrued interest on the FHA mortgage for the first five years of the FHA mortgage loan -- Florida mortgage applicants who do not have to pay toward the principal amount borrowed until after the first five years. The criteria for each of these Florida home loans vary depending on the area and county of Florida in which you are applying for the FHA mortgage. Specific FHA home loan requirements can be obtained through the Florida FHA Housing Finance Agency.
Much of a student's success in school depends upon having parents who are supportive at home. The earlier a parent gets involved in their child's education, the better. One study shows that the three most important factors of parental involvement include: their perception about whether their child or school even wants them involved; how much they believe they can positively influence their child's education; and what is okay for them to do with and for their child regarding school. In addition, when parents model behavior that shows education is important, it will have a positive impact on them. Children need to feel that school is an important part of their family life. You're a teacher - but where do you start?
1. Quite simply: just ask parents to get involved! Sometimes it isn't a matter of parents not wanting to be involved -- it's a matter of them not knowing how to start. When you have a list of tasks to accomplish for your classroom, don't assume you must do it all yourself. There are parents who would be happy to help, if they were just asked.
2. Identify the talents, strengths and interests of parents. Those skills could be extremely helpful to the classroom. Send a list home of what opportunities your school has for parents and ask them which ones they are interested in helping with. Jobs could include coordinating fundraisers, managing volunteers, working as paraprofessionals or being a community advocate for their school.
3. If a parent is resistant to becoming more involved, they need to know this: Research has consistently shown that students whose parents are regularly involved in their child's education will have better school attendance, improved grades and will demonstrate a higher level of motivation and self-esteem than kids whose parents aren't involved. In addition, parents will be less likely to have to deal with their child dropping out of school, getting suspended, using drugs and alcohol or being violent. That's convincing evidence!
4. Become a partner with parents, and make them feel part of the team. Some parents feel it is a teacher's job to teach and don't know how they, as parents, can help. Offer parents a guideline of everything they can do to support their child's education at home. This might include suggestions for creating an effective study environment for their child or how they can help their child study. Encourage parents to go on field trips or watch educational programs with their child, which will reinforce your teaching efforts from home.
5. While many parents get involved with school when their child first enters kindergarten, parental involvement drops sharply with each passing grade level. Find ways to keep parents involved as their child progresses through school. If possible, have a space designated at school that serves as a parent room to encourage continued involvement at school.
6. Don't pre-judge who you think will, or won't, want to become involved. Even though a child might come from a single-parent or low-income home, it doesn't mean that parent isn't just as concerned about their child's education as others are. Give these parents the same chance to participate in their child's education as you would middle-class or two-parent families.

Definitely check the state requirements first. My country demands that our program is, but looking at it is not something we have to say. We are fortunate in my area has a large library to research all the units and allow parents to get home from school (with proof of home-school) teachers library card that allows us to keep things more extract, and also helps us to verify the research unit of our homeschooling. If you're new to the idea of homeschooling, you probably have questions. Are you overwhelmed by the options you have to do? How do you prepare for the school year? Do you have to buy a specific program or need? Before you afford to be too much stress, the following guidelines can help make the process easier.
1. Laws on homeschooling in your state. Each state has its own laws regarding the education of their child. Sure that you understand and obey the laws of your state.
2. Write your objectives for the education of his son. This will help you decide which plan best suits Study these objectives. It will also give a guide to see if they are on track throughout the year.

I am interested in trying Homeschool my child, and if works still possibly Homeschool him later. Does anyone know of any home-school program that begins with good Toddler / preschool and continues. Moreover, I prefer something non-religious (particularly in science), because I want to learn about evolution and not creationism. Thank you. ... I must say I have no problems with a program Christian, as taught evolution and science is taught in public schools. Additional lessons about the Christian faith, etc, no problem. Thank you.
